You are with some friends and you are looking for a delicious French restaurant around BKK? We found one of the best places for you! Bistrot Langka, near Patio hotel on Street 51 is a little hidden gem in the heart of Boeung Keng Kang 1. But careful, the restaurant is only opened for dinner.
It’s mainly known by word of mouth as it is located on this small but developing street. We went there many times and it’s really worth it. Only a few dishes on the menu, but a sign of good quality and freshness for the customers. Not only do you receive a great welcome from the owner and the staff, but also you will get to see the pictures of the menu with an iPad, such a good customer service…. and the photos look really mouth-watering!
I started with a delicious gnocchi with truffle oil, mushrooms and parmesan. For your info, it is a starter so the size is not that big, but it is also good as it permits you to order many different dishes! The gnocchi were perfectly cooked and even if it was only oil, we can smell this truffle taste and it was amazing. For those who love gnocchi, this is really a must-try! I have also tried the blini with salmon, the blini was a bit too thick but the salmon with the cream is always a big pleasure to eat. The pumpkin soup with parmesan crackers is great too, and it is served with a very nice decoration!
Let’s start the main course now! No worry, even if I am a big eater, I didn’t eat all these starters at the same time, I went to Bistrot Langka many times and I actually think I have tried the whole menu haha. I like to order their tuna tataki, very interesting Japanese inspired dish sprinkled with sesame grains. It might be one of the best-sellers of the restaurant! It is usually served with French fries, but honestly, for those who want to change, you should try their mashed potatoes, a real feast! I loved that homemade purée mixed with chives… Believe me and ask for it!
The duck breast is good as well, they are not stingy with the portion… It might be the best value for money duck breast of the city! But mine was a bit too cooked while we had asked for a rosé one. So I hope next time it would be better. For those who want to opt for the organic pork chop, that is an awesome dish. The cooking and the sauce were really tasty. The good point is that they use organic pork, which is better for your health I guess. It is still greasy but if it’s natural fat, why not? However, it won’t be enough for two people. You will need to order a starter and a dessert to be full, never enough for me.
If you want to please your customers with some desserts, just served the original ones! And Bistrot Langka knew that. You can find there the famous profiteroles: ice-cream puff with chocolate sauce on it, chocolate lava cake or apple pie…
All these good quality food for an affordable price! You will end up your dinner with a starter – that doesn’t cost up to 5.75 dollars, a main course and a dessert for a total of around 20-25 dollars per person. Of course, if you are willing to enjoy your time with a glass of wine or a drink, it might cost a bit more but you will have a perfect evening in a friendly atmosphere.
Enjoy now! Book in advance if you want to be sure to have a seat!
